This research report explores possible synergies and scope for collaboration between the German Government's "Certified Trading Chains in Mineral Production" (CTC) project and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). Both initiatives seek to increase transparency in the extractive industries. The report highlights how the two initiatives could collaborate and also identifies possible overlaps. Additionally, the report discusses how some features of the EITI design could be used in the younger CTC. The report was written by Nicholas Garrett and commissioned by the German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources.
